Writing progress

3 hours ago: Struggling to make myself write. I just need to get on with it really. Being tired doesn’t help, but so what? Do it Kx, do it now!

I got some writing done, not nearly as much as I hoped, but a fairly decent amount.

I did stuff for $project that I really wanted to get done, so squee!

Plus, validated Web Stuff, so that’s good. (I’m using some amazing free themes by other people that didn’t have valid markup; now they do).

Oh, and made Kx tumbles less pink :O

Writing, mood and inspiration

When it comes to poetry, I’m much more prolific when I’m feeling really down.

I’m pretty expressive when I’m feeling really happy too - usually lots of rambling about how love and stuff are amazing in a very free, organic and repetitive way.

This Futurama quotation holds significance for me; I might get a poem out of it after I’ve had some sleep… “I mean, being a robot’s great but we don’t have emotions and sometimes that makes me very sad.” Bender

I’m currently listening to the suicide tag on last.fm.

Mock The Week YouTube clips will help… Oh, I forgot, the patriarchy exists there too. Hm. Okay, time for some feminist comedy. (Although, grr at the idea that one’s cunt would be safer at home than out jogging late at night is perpetuating that myth about strangers in bushes… Oh no, even the supposedly feminist comedy is full of rape jokes. AAGH!)

Okay, I give up.

I hope I get some respite from institutional sexism in my flippin’ dreams.

I’m using NaNoWriMo to get back into journalling.

If you’re an anarchist / feminist / queer / radical / vegan wrimo, feel free to add me. :)

Writing habits

I’ve not written here for a while, but…

I’m writing lots in my journal.
I’m experimenting with different journalling styles, with a view to some collaborative writing stuff too.
I’m playing with some ideas for novels.
I started re-writing the Rent screenplay in my head.
I created a zine called Brazen (I’m not sure if it’s finished yet) last month.
I’m writing poetry for another zine or three I’m making.
I’m keeping an eye out for writing jobs.
I’ve written some sort of penpal correspondence.
I have a writing buddy.

Collaborative feminist zine-making - Zines! a crafty feminists event.

Original blurb:

Come prepared to write/ draw/ etc!* Bring ideas and/or stuff you’ve already created, if you’d like.

Collaborative feminist zine! Whee! All feminists welcome.

Let’s be supportive of each other, act in good faith, listen to each other and challenge shitty behaviour, including when we “didn’t mean it that way”.
Let’s work together and start creating something that excites us all.
Let’s see what happens. :)

If you’re able/willing to host this event, please text/email me. Otherwise I will arrange a suitable venue for our zine-making.

More information to follow…

*Anything you can do on paper that can then be reproduced with a photocopier! :)
